Q: Why choose a career with Resources Global Professionals?

A: Resources Associates enjoy the freedom of managing their own career by working on projects that allow them to achieve their professional and personal goals. Some of the advantages over a traditional corporate or consulting role:

  • Competitive pay + pay for every hour worked + great benefits: We offer competitive compensation that we constantly review against market conditions.  Every hour you work is compensated. Resources offers a full range of benefits, including paid vacations and holidays, access to medical insurance, performance bonus plans, employee stock purchase plan (ESPP), 3 days training time per financial year, 3 days paid sick leave, accrue 1 days holiday per each 71 hours worked, up to 3 months leave at one time, one professional subscription, annual discretionary bonus scheme.
  • Flexibility: Resources can provide Associates with the work/life balance that so many of us are trying to achieve. By having more control over the types and timing of engagements, Associates can accept projects that fit the needs of their schedules and their professional development goals.
  • Broaden skill set OR focus on niche skill: Because of the flexibility that comes with the career choice of an Associate, you can move across industries to gain new skills or you can discover what you really enjoy and gain depth in that specific area. Our service line model allows our Associates to flex across various projects and not be “silo-ed” to any one department or niche.
  • Interesting assignments within different clients and industries: Resources works with a wide variety of companies, but mainly large international organisations. Additionally, Resources Associates are not limited to working in one vertical.
  • Less politics = less stress = less overtime: As an Associate, you can avoid the stress and politics often associated with traditional corporate or consulting positions.  Our Associates enjoy the reward of delivering an exceptional result without having to juggle competing priorities and agendas.
  • Avoid self-marketing and administrative hassles: Have that entrepreneurial bug but can’t deal with everything else that goes along with being an independent consultant or sole practitioner? Resources Associates enjoy the fun that comes with working in a variety of corporate settings and on a variety of challenging engagements without the back-office administrative hassle.

Q: What does a typical engagement look like and how long does it last?

A: The type of project you will be engaged upon will depend on your experience and interests. Here are a few project examples: providing accounting or human capital support for reorganisations or restructures, assisting with monthly, quarterly and year-end closings, developing a compensation program, developing a new management reporting or budgeting system, Finance and IT liaison for system implementation. The average engagement lasts four to six months, but is very often extended to accommodate additional projects.

Q: What am I responsible for?

A: While on engagement your key responsibilities will include:

  • Maintaining a high level of professionalism. Our Associates demonstrate respect, integrity, poise and maturity. You'll be responsible for exercising sound judgment and displaying a problem-solving attitude while managing multiple tasks on a project.
  • Focusing on Client service.  Resources prides itself on the knowledge and expertise our Associates bring to Client engagements. A helpful, "can do" attitude and making the client's needs a priority will make you successful.
  • Communicating effectively and regularly. Communication with the client project team and your Resources client service contact is critical to any successful project.

Q: How does Resources manage transitions from project to project?

A: The most important goal for our Client Service and Recruiting teams is to work together to manage our client and Associate relationships. Each week, these teams meet to strategise over new project opportunities for our Associates. We make it a priority to find new opportunities for our existing Associates, even weeks before their project is scheduled to end.

Q: What if I get offered a permanent job at the Client or at another company?

A: As you explore different opportunities, we want you to consider Resources as a career opportunity and expect the same level of commitment to our work that you would provide to any other opportunity. However, we do recognise that our clients often extend offers to our Associates (a testament to the quality service that Resources Associates deliver) and that there are some employment relationships that just don’t fit once you’ve accepted. If this situation arises, the first and most important step is to communicate with your Resources client service team, as there are certain contractual terms and conditions that apply to your role on a Resources engagement. In addition, we will be able to facilitate, provide guidance and coordinate a smooth transition. Resources Global Professionals takes pride in providing Clients with impeccable service, so we do expect that our Associates will provide us with adequate notice prior to pursuing other ventures.

  • Professional Integrity
